The more I go to tropical vacations, the easier it is to pack for upcoming trips. My love for the beach and weather has helped me narrow down my favorite clothing items that works best–and tunics always top that list. I bring along at least one on every trip.
Summer tunics come in lots of shapes, fabric, and styles, but are typically characterized by a longer length (My favorite part), side slits, and split neck or button down. You can find them full sleeves (which is perfect for beach sunsets and if you want to protect your skin from the sun) or sleeveless. The tunic you choose will all depend upon your destination, time of the year and style preference.
Beaches are probably the destination where tunics get to shine the most. The light fabrics and beautiful colors make them great for warm climates, and do not forget to pack them on your cruise or sailing trip as well. There are lots of fun prints or embellished tops on the market that can help to add interest to your beachside outfit. (My favorite color is blue)
For the most versatile piece, look for fabric that is not too translucent, and a style that hits at your upper thigh. This way, you can use your tunic as a swimsuit cover-up, wear it as a dress, pair it with denim shorts for daytime sightseeing, or with linen pants for a nighttime stroll. (I also use them when I overeat since they are loose, lol)
Mix a favorite travel fabric in a tunic cut and you have got a perfect top to bring on your spring or summer vacation. Ideal for tropical or casual trips, they are stylish and versatile piece to add to your travel wardrobe. I feel like I always need a piece like this on every trip, it is a life saver.
I prefer a longer length style tunic because I am tall, and I like to be comfortable while on vacation. I also like to use them to go on the airplane. When I travel to the destination, I always land into the tropical airport I can already feel the delicious heat and my regular LA clothing is not the best for it. I go already prepared and ready to enjoy the vacation

Let’s hit the park and have a fabulous picnic! Pack a Picnic Basket with all the essentials!
Went to Griffith park a couple of weekends ago and had the most amazing and picnic with a friend. We got there around 5:30pm and the weather was perfect!. We had a lot to snack on and brought everything we needed to be comfortable and have a good time. We also watched the sunset and it was magical. So wanted to make a list of the essentials, so you can have a fabulous picnic as well!
1. Choose a Location That Makes Sense
You don’t necessarily have to host a picnic in a public park or beach. You can host one on a rooftop, a patio, or even indoors
2. Make a List
Write down what you need to bring. If you’re hosting outside of your home, you don’t want to forget anything.
3. Layer Blankets and Pillows for Seating
Mix patterned or striped towels, blankets, or even rugs to create patchwork seating. Layer the blankets to keep guests dirt-free. Bring Collapsible bags to storage them! They take no space, they're reusable and friendly to the environment, super practical and you can bring a lot of them since they fold!. My favorite one is the SnapBasket LUXE Tote
4.Keep the Food Simple
Try handheld foods and appetizers, like vegetable or fruit kabobs, bread and cheese, or hummus and chips. And don't forget about dessert. Make sure to bring a cooler so everything is fresh. My fave Tahoe Cooler
6. The most fun! What to wear
We went for a super girly look, but you can rock anything that your heart desires.
You may have heard the old saying that “comfort is king,” and today’s laid back styles definitely make that more possible than in other times. This is due in part to several things, not the least of which boils down to basic structure.
Talking structure, in the past, if you wanted to wear something loose and slouchy, you had to buy clothes in sizes larger than your actual size. However, today, clothing is actually made with looser fits in mind. It may not seem like much of a difference, but this has a significant effect on whether you can successfully achieve the fun breezy styles you are shooting for. So, if you crave comfort in your style or just lean towards more bohemian and flowy fashions, here is how to wear them without looking unkempt.
1. Choose styles that have extra fabric at the bottom like this beautiful Wrapped Maxi Dress in Red from Chicwish
2. Ensure to enhance your waist
3.Pick fun bold colors like this fun and super flowy midi skirt from Chicwish
4. If you want one of your pieces to be oversized, balance the outfit with the other piece being regular fit like this sassy Chicwish lace crochet top
Oversized Hats are the New Moderately Size Sun Hats
Last summer, it seemed every girl was packing his ribbon-tied, flat-brimmed hat for their travels, but the look is now supersized.
Bike Shorts are the New Leggings
Finally, an alternative to stretchy leggings! . . . Shorter stretchy leggings! But at least pulling off bike shorts requires some clever styling. Kim Kardashian West, who is largely responsible for the trend, often wears her tight, knee-length shorts with oversize jackets.
Wedges Are the New Block Heels
For a while, wedges were nothing but a memory of the early-’00s: clunky, vaguely frumpy shoes we preferred not to revisit. But in this age of ugly-chic, ironic fashion, it’s little wonder the wedge has made a major comeback.
Heart-Shaped Sunglasses are the New Itty-Bitty Frames This summer, tiny frames have been replaced by heart-shaped sunnies, and the reason is they are super fun and cover your eyes!
Prairie Dresses are the New Slip Dresses
When you’re not showing a little skin in a glossy, strappy slip, the only dress worth having seems to be of the Little House on the Prairie variety.
Don't have an hour to get ready in the morning? No problem! You'll look put together in mere minutes with these totally doable tips.
1. PERFECT THE 5-MINUTE MAKEUP ROUTINEIf some mornings you have time for only concealer and lip gloss, so be it!. Instead of worrying, realize that this little bit of effort has a big payoff. Bright, flawless skin can do wonders for pulling together your look. Just be sure your concealer becomes invisible when blended into your skin. Also, avoid puffy, raccoon eyes by applying concealer only to dark circles rather than your entire under-eye area.
2.GET A LOW-MAINTENANCE HAIRSTYLETalk to your hairdresser about a cut that not only flatters your face, but is easy to style. Get your money's worth from your hairdresser by asking for tips on easy ways you can wear your new style.
3.ORGANIZE YOUR ACCESSORIES
Whether you're wearing skinny jeans and a t-shirt or a LBD, having a pair of signature earrings that goes with everything adds variety to your wardrobe and helps complete your look. These gold and garnet drop earrings can easily be dressed up or dressed down.
4. TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR HANDS
As simple as it sounds, taking care of your hands and nails is one of the top characteristics of a polished individual. People who keep their hands manicured appear to be more put-together than those who don't. You don't have to necessarily keep polish on your nails, but make sure that you keep your nails filed and your cuticles trimmed.
5. INVEST IN A FEW KEY PIECES TO ELEVATE YOUR WARDROBE
Adding a nice blazer, sweater, or jacket can improve any outfit, so invest in these pieces. You'll be able to pair them with the majority of the clothes in your wardrobe. Get a nice pair of denim jeans as well, as high quality denim always looks great. Women should always invest in a little black dress, and men should always invest in a nice fitting suit. These can be re-worn over and over again, so invest in something nice.
6.PRACTICE YOUR POSTURE
Standing and sitting up straight creates a much more polished look than slouching does. Practice standing tall, putting your shoulders back, and holding your head up high. This will help you exude confidence, creating a more polished overall look.
7. PLAN YOUR OUTFITS IN ADVANCE
Plan your outfit a night before to ensure the outfit fits and looks great for your presentation or party
Select skirts like you would select pants. Look for pieces that balance out your top, and stick with designs that benefit from your natural curves instead of fighting against them
1. Consider tops with vertical stripes. Vertical stripes elongate the body, and for garments that nip in at the waist, these stripes also draw into your narrow waist.
2. Pair full skirts, like A-lines, with a full top that adds volume to your shoulders and bust AND NOT YOUR WAIST. Full skirts add slight volume to your hips, balancing out a fuller top.
3. Try on a wrap dress or empire waist dress. Both styles nip in at the waist, making it look even thinner while accentuating your upper and lower curves.
4.Try a scooped, v-neck or boat-neck neckline that hangs low and accentuates your curvy bust.
5. Gravitate toward curve-hugging pencil skirts or other cuts that skim your figure.
High-waisted skirts work especially well. Like the one below from Chicwish, love this style since the skirt has a "corset" that works as a belt to enhance your waist
Wedding season is here, which means you're likely to have a ton of summer weddings to attend. These events call for looks that are a little more laid-back. But how do you get dressed-up enough without overdoing your outfit?
Whether you want to keep it classic or go for a playful look, I am breaking down two outfits that are perfect for keeping things a bit more casual. Sometimes it all comes down to your styling choices, like swapping out fancier heels for flats when wearing a maxi dress or opting for suiting separates on their own instead of together.
Keep reading to see (and shop) the outfit combinations to nail casual wedding attire.
A Chic Jumpsuit
This is a look that's playful but great for a wedding. Go for details like lace fabrics or bold colors, and then pair it with dressy shoes and nice accessories. What's ideal about a jumpsuit is how versatile it is—it really comes down to how you accessorize. I recommend pointed-toe pumps and a structured handbag.
Everything feels more casual with flats, so don't be afraid to pull out a more dramatic piece and dress it down with simple accessories that are more daytime-appropriate. Flat strappy ballet flats and your everyday layers of simple necklaces and dainty earrings are perfect. This is an ideal time to pull out that one dress you bought for an event but haven't worn since.
When I saw this skirt from Chicwish, I knew it belonged it was perfect for Wedding season and to be able to wear it again. It’s feminine, elegant and flowy. I absolutely love the colors and flower details. It’s lightweight and perfect for a summer soiree. I love that the top has a v-neck and is simple to balance the skirt and I like to tuck it in to bring more emphasis to my waist and create a feminine shape.
